Corinne Dufour is Sir Hugo Drax's personal pilot and assistant in the James Bond film Moonraker (1979). She was portrayed by Corinne Clery.

Film biographyEdit

This very cute young French woman first appears when Bond arrives in Los Angeles to investigate Drax. Corinne is his humble helicopter pilot that collects Bond from Los Angeles International airport, apprising him of general information about the Drax Corporation during the flight. She then escorts Bond to meet Holly Goodhead.

While staying at Drax's estate, Bond visits Corinne in her bedroom to elicit information, where the sultry brunette is doing her hair and was apparently wainting for him. As she is only an assistant, she knows a very few things but she tells it to 007 after an hesitation and they have sex. While she sleeps naked, Bond leaves to investigate Drax's study. Corinne wakes up and follows him there to tell him to leave. But she inadvertently reveals where the safe is located and stands by as Bond photographs the documents it contained, very surprised by the informations Bond collects. However, Dufour is very worried and keeps glancing at the door, her face drawn with fear, because she knows that if someone sees her with Bond in this study, she would be in big trouble, and she tells Bond to leave again. Unfortunately for her, she is seen by Chang as she leaves the study.

After Bond leaves the estate the following morning Dufour is summoned by Drax while he is out hunting in the grounds. Drax informs Dufour that her employment has been terminated due to her involvement in Bond's safe breaking the previous night. Corinne is abashed and vainly try to protest, but she is strictly fired. Then Drax decides to be more cruel toward her and wants to get rid of her forever by setting his trained hunting dogs onto her. Dufour sees them and begins to run, panic-stricken. The dogs chase her into the forest and the poor Dufour escapes as fast as she can, trying to save her life, but unfortunately for her she is eventually brought down and painfully killed, eaten alive and torn apart by the vicious dogs. Bond apparently remains unaware of her demise and she is never mentioned again.

Character informationsEdit

Although she works for a villain, Corinne is a nice, humble and innocent girl who is totally unaware of her boss's plan to destroy humanity; she is of course not included in Drax's master race plan, although she is a very attractive young lady. A reasonably sweet and quiet person, she appears quite bored and very lonely in her daily work for Drax. When Bond seduces her, she knows that it is mostly to get information from Drax’s safe, but the sexy single French girl then feels a real need to enjoy herself and get some pleasure with a man for once and tells him all the few things she knows, as she cannot resist to have sex with him - she was probably waiting for this for years. After this one night love affair, she is extremely afraid when Bond discovers her boss's study. Knowing very well the consequences for her, she had never wanted to betray her boss and show Bond the safe, but an unfortunate little glance leaded her to her horrible fate : it is Corinne alone who unfairly pays the ultimate price when Drax learns of her unintentional betrayal, with one of the most painful and cruel death in a Bond movie, and probably the worst one for a woman. The poor assistant first thought she was "only" fired for revealing Bond the safe, which is not really true because Bond forced her and it was not very well hidden, but her following punishment was extremely nasty and undeserved, especially for a girl as sweet as Corinne. 007 will never know what happened to her because of him.
