The Walther P5 is a German semi-automatic pistol developed and manufactured the Walther. It was developed in response to aging Walther P38, as well as the West German law enforcement's desires for a new, more powerful service pistol in the 9×19 mm caliber in the mid-1970s.

History[]

Octopussy (film)[]

The gun is used throughout the film, as James Bond tells Q that he had mislaid his Walther PPK.

Never Say Never Again (film)[]

The gun is used by James Bond, although it has been mislabelled as a Walther PPK throughout.

Licence to Kill (film)[]

During a tour of the Olympatec Meditation Institute where the heroin operation was being demonstrated, Dario had recognised James Bond from their previous encounter. In order not to alert their investors, who were watching the demonstration, Dario quietly drew his Walther P5 and placed it onto Bond's back, ordering him to keep quiet, while Franz Sanchez noticed the situation. Once Honorato and Truman-Lodge finished the demonstration, Bond was able to escape Dario's grip, causing a fire which forced Dario to drop his gun, although Bond was swiftly recaptured, while Dario's Walther P5 was destroyed in the fire.
