André is a croupier in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No, he was portrayed by Alan Gold. He works in the Le Cercle, where Bond played baccarat with Sylvia Trench.
Biography[]
While working at the Le Cercle, André was sat beside Sylvia Trench while she played Baccarat against James Bond, who repeatedly beats her, much to Trench's annoyance. Trench insisted on continuing to play, confirming with André that the house would cover the difference. Once Trench and Bond had formally introduced themselves to each other, they agreed with André to raise their limit, with Bond still winning the game. The game ended when Bond received a message and departed the table, giving his regards to André before he left.
