"Looks like our man, burn scars on his face."
"Hmm. I wonder if bomb-makers are insured for things like that.

James Bond and Carter[src]

At the beginning of Casino Royale, Mollaka is attending a mongoose/snake fight in Madagascar, unaware that he is being shadowed by two MI6 operatives - James Bond and Carter - who have been sent to apprehend him.

Carter mingles with the crowd while Bond watches from a short distance away. As the sound of the crowd drowns out Bond's voice, Carter fumbles with his earpiece; not hearing Bond's sharp orders to put his hand down. Mollaka spots Carter and makes a run for it. Tripping over himself, Carter's weapon accidentally discharges and chaos ensues. With their cover blown, Bond leaves his position and runs off in pursuit of the fleeing Mollaka.

Bond chases him to a construction site, where an epic chase begins. Mollaka uses a combination of Parkour and Free Running when being chased. He kills a worker by kicking him off the building. He is followed by Bond to the embassy for Nambutu. There he is captured by Bond, before being confronted by the Ambassador and embassy guards. Held at gunpoint and ignoring his orders to take Mollaka alive, Bond releases him and surrenders the pistol he'd seized in the embassy. Seemingly ready to surrender, Bond quickly draws his own pistol and shoots Mollaka, along with a nearby gas cylinder. The resulting explosion allows Bond to escape with Mollaka's backpack and phone.

Bond eventually learns that Quantum was nothing more than a front run by Ernst Stavro Blofeld of SPECTRE and that Mollaka, along with Le Chiffre and Carlos Nikolic, were all pawns as part of Blofeld's true plot to wreak psychological pain on Bond.

Alternate continuities[]

Quantum of Solace (video game)[]

Mollaka also appears in this game and is again engaged by Alex Dimitrios to commit the bombing of the Miami International Airport. Once again, he is pursued by Bond in Madagascar, except that this time, he is helped by several henchmen. His death, however, is not shown, but he is likely to die in the same way as in the film.

Personality & Abilities[]

Mollaka may be highly acrobatic, but he also seems cautious and to live on the edge. He is a world-class parkour traceur, runs exceptionally fast, and has assorted agent skills such as martial arts, bomb-making, gunfighting, etc. His parkour skills make it easy to lose almost any pursuer.
