Casino Royale was a 2006 platforming video game developed by Javaground and published by Sony Pictutes Digital for mobile phones. The game was based on the 2006 film of the same name.

Gameplay[]

Developed for Java-equipped handsets, Casino Royale is a side-scrolling platformer in which the player controls James Bond; running, jumping, climbing, shimmying up and down pipes, swinging on ropes and rolling along the ground. Players can shoot enemies they encounter, picking up new firearms as they progress, or brawl using button combinations (for example, 'left', 'right', 'fire') which allow the player to finish them with a special move. The handset's left soft-key can be used for executing sneak attacks from behind, rope-swinging, and kicking bins at crowds of enemies. Throughout the game 007 will also have to pick locks and defuse bombs. Between levels players are offered the opportunity to upgrade their character with skill points which affect shooting, brawling, armour and stealth ratings.[1]

Reception[]

Reviewing the game, Stuart Dredge of Pocket Gamer scored the game 7 out of 10. Drawing comparisons with the recently released Splinter Cell: Double Agent, he concluded it was "a polished attempt to fuse Bond with Splinter Cell, complementing the movie admirably".[1]
