The Ericsson JB988 was a fictional cellphone manufactured by Ericsson and subsequently modified by the British Secret Intelligence Service's (SIS/MI6) research and development division, Q Branch. The device was designed for and appeared prominently in EON Productions' 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Most of the film's gadgets are concealed in the handset, including a finger print scanner, vehicle remote-control for Bond's BMW 750iL, and 20,000 volt electroshock weapon.
