Lotus Formula 3 - Casino Royale (1967)

Evelyn Tremble (Peter Sellers) drives the Lotus Formula 3, as seen in Casino Royale (1967).

Lotus Formula 3 is a Formula 3 racing car which was briefly featured in the unofficial 1967 James Bond film, Casino Royale. The vehicle was presumably intended to be the Lotus 41, a Lotus Formula 3 and Formula 2 racing car which ran between 1966 and 1968.

Appearances[]

The Lotus Formula 3 was driven, very briefly, by Evelyn Tremble, one of numerous agents given the code name "James Bond 007" during the satirical film. After Tremble defeats Le Chiffre in a high-stakes game of Baccarat, Vesper Lynd is kidnapped by the his henchmen. Standing beside the Formula 3, Tremble instructs sporting legend Stirling Moss to "follow that car", prompting him to ineptly run after it on foot. Instead, Tremble climbs into the vehicle and gives chase, breaking the fourth wall by stating "Grand Prix enthusiasts may be worried by the time it's taken me to get into this Lotus Formula Three. They don't realise that although Le Chiffre thinks he has a faster car than me, I am faster in my Lotus Formula Three! Hee Hee!"
