Mads Mikkelsen (born November 22, 1965 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish actor best known for his interpretation of the famous psychiatrist and criminal Hannibal Lecter in the series Hannibal, that of the sorcerer Kaecilius in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange (2016) and that of the scientist Galen Erso in the film Rogue One (2016). Within the James Bond franchise, Mikkelsen portrayed Le Chiffre, the main antagonist in the film Casino Royale (2006), a role he reprised in the video game adaptation of the 2008 film Quantum Of Solace. Along with his appearances in Hollywood productions, Mikkelsen also plays in several films of authors, including The Hunt (2012) for which he won the Best Actor Award.
