The Sterling L2A3 is a British submachine gun used in the British Army from 1953-1994. It is seen and used in the films Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. Its also briefly seen in Thunderball, Moonraker and The Living Daylights.

The Sterling L2A3 is used by Bond, the crew of the three submarines and the Liparus crew during the battle inside the supertanker.
