The Heckler & Koch UMP (German: Universale Maschinenpistole) is a German-made, mass-locked, polymer-framed submachine gun that fires from a closed bolt. It is designed as a successor to the MP5 submachine gun, with advantages such as easy maintenance and the lightness of the polymer body compared to the metal body of the MP5. Additionally, to be easier to manufacture than the MP5.

Casino Royale (film)[]

Some of Gettler's henchmen use a H&K UMP-9 with suppressors during the last action sequence in Venice. Later, Bond uses one to shoot Mr. White's leg to finish the film.

Quantum of Solace (film)[]

The H&K UMP9 (presumably same Bond used to shoot Mr. White at the end of Casino Royale) is used by Bond during the pre-titles car chase action scene. The UMP-9 was also featured in much of the promotional material.

Game appearances[]

The World Is Not Enough (video game)[]

The Heckler and Koch UMP appears in the game as the "Deutsche M45", chambered in .45 ACP and fitted with a RIS foregrip as well as an accessory rail on top of the weapon.

Quantum of Solace (video game)[]

The Heckler and Koch UMP makes an appearance in this game. It can be equipped with a suppressor and laser. It's called the SAF .45, even though it clearly has the curved magazine only present on the 9mm UMP. The UMP made several appearances in the film Casino Royale, and is prominent in promotional artwork for Quantum of Solace. This gun appears in the levels White´s Estate, Bregenz and Train.
