War Cloud was an incomplete series of unreleased comic strips that were originally intended to follow 1979's Shark Bait in the Daily Express series. It was printed along with other James Bondcomics for the first time in the Nightbird paperback by Titan Books.
Plot[]
While stalking two KGB agents, James Bond expected them to be heading towards the ocean, and is surprised when they instead approach a hot-air balloon. Using eavesdropping equipment, Bond learns that they are arms dealers that instead of making their usual drop, plan to deliver their goods in person. Bond cuts the balloon cable when they are up high enough, and the KGB agents decide to kill their seafaring contact that had climbed aboard from the boat they had met at sea. They shoot him, but Bond flies up to them with his Heli-pack. He orders the KGB to stand down, but they fire at him while the other attempts to strangle their target, who is thrown overboard in the firefight. Bond is victorious and flies down to recover the gunrunner.
