Yaroslav Horak (12 June 1927 - 24 November 2020) was an Australian comics artist best known as the second artist of the comic strip featuring Ian Fleming's James Bond.
Bond involvement[]
Yaroslav illustrated thirty-three James Bond comic strips in total. He took over as illustrator of the comic strip from John McLusky in the Daily Express from 1966-1977, which included illustrating the comic strips of five of Ian Fleming's original novels and short stories The Man with the Golden Gun (his first strip), The Living Daylights, From a View to a Kill, Octopussy, The Hildebrand Rarity and The Spy Who Loved Me and Kingsley Amis's Colonel Sun. He then illustrated several other James Bond strips for the Sunday Express and Daily Star from 1977-1979 and again from 1983-1984, ending with the final published comic strip of the series Double Eagle. However a cancelled Daily Express strip from 1979 called War Cloud was later finished and published in the James Bond Comic collection of Nightbird by Titan Books in in 2010.
