Gerard Butler (born November 13, 1969 in Paisley, Scotland) is a Scottish actor who has appeared on film, stage, and television. Butler is known for his role as King Leonidas in 2007's 300 as well as the main hero Mike Banning in the 2013 film Olympus Has Fallen and it's 2015 sequel London Has Fallen. He also acted on films like Mrs. Brown, Tomorrow Never Dies (with Pierce Brosnan and Götz Otto), Reign of Fire, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (a sequel to the 2001 original film which co-starred Daniel Craig), 2004's The Phantom of the Opera, Nim's Island, The Ugly Truth, Law Abiding Citizen, The Bounty Hunter, Playing for Keeps, Chasing Mavericks and Machine Gun Preacher. He also voiced Stoick the Vast in the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon and it's sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2. Butler also portrayed Attila the Hun in the 2001 TV miniseries "Attila".

Tomorrow Never Dies was one of his earliest big screen film credits and he can briefly be seen portraying the Leading seaman of the HMS Devonshire.
