The Manta Mk IX submersible is a fictional single-seat, military midget submarine sold by an unidentified criminal organisation; implied to be SPECTRE. It is unknown whether the organisation constructs the vessels or merely trades them. The submersible appeared only in the console versions of Electronic Arts' 2004 spin-off video-game GoldenEye: Rogue Agent.
One of the military vehicles auctioned at the Octopus underwater facility, Auric Goldfinger's chief enforcer, GoldenEye, purchased one of the submersibles (valued at €100,000,000) to make his escape in. In addition, he bought €1,000,000 of Lucifer X14 plastic explosives, which were (presumably via automated systems) loaded aboard the sub for his subsequent attack on Dr. Julius No's island, Crab Key. A highly-manoeuvrable midget submarine operated by a single-man crew, it was accessible via a hatch to the rear of the submersible, with its bulletproof glass-lined cockpit located at the front. Payload includes a folding missile launcher armed with eight forward-firing missiles (hidden beneath a panel on the submarine's tail fin) and a pair of forward-firing double-barrelled machine guns hidden beneath panels (two on each side) on the front of the sub.
