The Moonraker laser pistol is a fictional handheld laser pistol designed primarily for space combat. It was first featured in the 1979 James Bond film Moonraker and was subsequently re-imagined for the video games Goldeneye 007: Reloaded (2010) and 007 Legends (2012).


Moonraker (film)

In the 1979 James Bond film Moonraker the laser pistol is made by the Drax Enterprise Corporation for security purpose of Drax's space station crew. In the film, the pistol is used by Drax's crew while they fight against the U.S. Marines. Dr. Goodhead use one to help the Marines. When Drax is trapped between Bond and the airlock door he manage to snatch one near one of his dead crew members and was about to kill Bond when Bond fires a poison dart from his wrist dart gun at Drax before sending Drax into space.

GoldenEye 007 (2010 game)

The Moonraker laser pistol appears in the video-games Goldeneye 007: Reloaded (2010), and 007 Legends (2012). Like its big brother, the laser rifle, the laser pistol has unlimited ammunition.

The weapon made its first appearance in the "00 Edition" of Goldeneye 007: Reloaded (2010) on Playstation 3. When purchased, the player received a redeemable code for an extra multiplayer character (Hugo Drax) and the Moonraker Laser Pistol, also for multiplayer use.

007 Legends

The laser pistol made its second appearance in the 2012 game 007 Legends. It was usable in multiplayer mode.
