Octopussy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) was a soundtrack composed by John Barry for the 1983 James Bond film of the same name. The film's theme song, "All Time High", was sung by Rita Coolidge and written by English lyricist Tim Rice in collaboration with Barry. The album was released on vinyl and cassette by A&M Records in 1983 and was subsequently re-released on compact disc with 3 additional tracks by Rykodisc on 14th October 1997.[1] The album was subsequently remastered on CD by Capitol Records in 31st March 2003.[2]
Development[]
The soundtrack was composed by veteran John Barry. The opening theme, "All Time High" was sung by Rita Coolidge and is the only Bond theme (with lyrics by Tim Rice) that does not reference the film's title along with "You Know My Name" and "Another Way to Die. Additionally it is the second theme to not be named the same as the film; the first was Nobody Does it Better, from The Spy Who Loved Me.

Trivia[]
- An extremely rare batch of Octopussy compact discs (#394 967-2) were produced by A&M Records in West Germany. Most estimates for its dating lie between May 1984[3] and 1985.[4] It is one of the earliest examples of a film score to be released on compact disc.
