Stefan Pomerov (Russian: Стефан Померов) was a fictional wealthy Russian oligarch and founder/owner of Pomerov Industries. Voiced by Laurentiu Possa, the character is a secondary antagonist created for Activision's 2010 video-game, James Bond 007: Blood Stone.

Biography[]

Stefan Pomerov is a Russian industrialist who owns a chemical refinery in Siberia. He is a secondary antagonist in the game. He is known as the buyer of a biochemical research that simply can be weaponized, developed by Malcolm Tedworth as the screenplay reveals. James Bond is taken by Nicole Hunter to one of Pomerov's casinos in Monaco. She distracts Pomerov while Bond sneaks in and breaks into his safe. Bond recovers documents and a camera that contains a video of Tedworth’s interrogation. On it, Tedworth reveals that he was the lead scientist who was trying to create an antidote to both Smallpox and Anthrax to cure soldiers in the event of a biological attack. In Siberia, Bond breaks into his office at the refinery and discovers that Pomerov built a bio-factory and is manufacturing toxins. He destroys the refinery and chases Pomerov until he boards an ekranoplan meant to transport the bio-weapons. Bond fights his way to the cockpit and confronts Pomerov. They briefly fight until 007 shoots the ekranoplan's emergency door release with his Walther P99. The door is wrenched away and Pomerov is sucked out of the ekranoplan to presumably his death. After the bio-weapons are recovered, Bond tells M that the tip about the bio-weapons was fabricated and it was set up by someone who wanted Pomerov dead. However, it stays a mystery.

In the Nintendo DS version of Blood Stone, when Bond first meets Hunter, she takes one additional measure to keep Pomerov distracted in addition to convincing him personally to delay the trip: encourage Bond to try and beat him in a game of Texas hold'em so that he would have to spend more time getting his men to retrieve additional funds, which he does successfully. After Bond infiltrates Pomerov's refinery in Siberia and shoots down a helicopter from a rooftop to severely damage it, he and Hunter escape and pursue Pomerov with an Aston Martin DBS V12 as he flees on a train with bioweapons. After the Aston Martin crashes into one of the train's coal trucks, Bond alone keeps pursuing Pomerov onto his personal ekranoplan and barely makes it onboard. Pomerov hoped to escape with the bioweapons, but after Bond decimates his forces, he instead plans to crash the ekranoplan into the Siberian coast to try and kill Bond if he and his last two henchmen, fiercely defending the cockpit, are not able to gun him down. However, they are no match for Bond himself, who kills all three within two minutes to take control of the ekranoplan, raise it up to a higher altitude and then send it crashing down into a remote area, before parachuting to safety at the start of the craft's fatal descent.
