Samuel Frederick "SamSmith (born 19 May 1992) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart. His subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"—earned him his first number one single in May 2013.

After denying to admit and providing speculation that the Spectre theme song will be sung by Ellie Golding (who also provided speculations on Twitter, by stating, 'Live and let die'), on September 8, 2015, Smith confirmed that his new song, entitled "Writing's on the Wall", was released on September 25, 2015, and was the theme song to the 24th James Bond film Spectre. Smith got an Oscar and Golden Globe shared with James Napier for "Writing's on the Wall".
